Auksė Balčytienė is a professor of journalism and communications at Vytautas Magnus University. She is passionate about researching and discussing the social and political implications of digital change, information disorder, and epistemic disruption.

In WHAT-IF, she is engaged in testing policy responses to emerging polarization and toxicity (WP5). She is also leading an association called DIGIRES, where programs and tools are created and tested to foster resilient citizenship.
